About Me

Rachel Loseke began her musical studies on piano at age 5, taught by her mother. She started violin at age 9, and later studied with Dr. Raymond Sidoti in her hometown, Sioux Falls, SD. Rachel went on to earn her Bachelor’s of Music in Violin Performance from the Cleveland Institute of Music, where she studied with world renown violin teacher Linda Cerone.

After graduating, Rachel moved to San Diego, where she began her orchestral career as a frequent substitute with the San Diego Symphony. In 2012, she won a full-time position with the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra, and moved to Tennessee. She has been performing as part of the KSO since then, with the exception of a yearlong sabbatical to New York City, where she did further study and had the opportunity to perform with the New York Philharmonic!

Besides playing in orchestra, Rachel loves passing on her passion and expertise to students through violin and viola lessons. She has been teaching since she was in high school and has always maintained a private studio alongside her performance duties in each place she’s lived.
